KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Police have arrested an inmate, who escaped from Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur, in connectionwith the murder of a youth in Thamel.
The fugitive, identified as Akash Magar, was arrested from Rolpa and is being brought to Kathmandu, according to police.

The incident occurred on September 29. The victim, a 25-year-old man originally from Makwanpur, who had been living in Manamaiju, was attacked with a khukuri, police said. He was immediately rushed to Bir Hospital for treatment but was declared dead by doctors.
Police suspect the murder was committed due to a long-standing personal dispute between the them.
Magar had been serving a sentence for robbery and armed theft. He escaped from Nakkhu Prison on September 9 during vandalism linked to the Gen-Z protest. Following the murder, he had remained at large.
Police said Magar’s involvement in the killing was confirmed through CCTV footage from the area and technical as well as manual investigations.
