APF had the control over the opposition from the very first set, which it claimed comfortably by 25-16. The departmental team also claimed even the next two sets easily to beat New Diamond. APF took the second set by 25-11 and third set by 25-15 in the final of the tournament organized by Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Foundation, Balkot, Bhaktapur.
APF, the champion, bagged Rs 50,000 while runner-up New Diamond claimed Rs 35,000 along with trophy and medals.
Meanwhile, another departmental team, Nepal Police, finished as second runner-up beating Western Region Volleyball Association by 3-1.
The police won the third place encounter by 25-22, 27-25, 17-25, 26-24 and claimed Rs 15,000 as well.
Saraswati Chaudhary of APF won the best player of the tournament award and received Rs 3,000.
Pratibha Mali and Lalita Nath of New Diamond got best spike and quick awards respectively, while Binita Budhathoki and Usha Bista of APF were best at setter and blocker, respectively. Aruna Shahi of Western won best server award. All of them received Rs 1,500 each.
