According to Agni Energy, Reva has many advantages like easy operation, zero emission, low operating cost and zero road tax over cars running on gasoline.
Customers are getting attracted toward electric vehicles all over the world as people have become aware about the environmental pollution and its impacts, said Deep.
In Nepal, the car is perhaps the best alternative for the people to get rid of increasing fuel prices and constant fuel shortage. The car, which does not have clutch or gears, looks unique with retro look and two doors and its visibility is high on the road. The hatchback is designed in such a way that it gives efficient performance on Nepali roads, according to the company.
Reva i has safety features like dent-proof ABS body that keeps the car safe from sudden jerk and minimizes the effect of accident on car. It has dual breaking system and a steel space frame which further ensures high safety measure. The eco-friendly car can accommodate two adults and two children and gives mileage of 80 km on full charge and offers a maximum speed of 70 kmph.
According to the company, it takes just two and a half hours to charge 80 percent of the battery. However, it takes eight hours to charge it fully. The battery of this fully automated car has life of more than three years.
“Though the customers have to invest a much higher cost initially, the operating cost is cheaper than maintaining a motorcycle as it consumes just around nine units of electricity to charge fully,” said Bardan Basnet, general manager - sales and marketing at Agni Energy.
Corporate executives and professionals who need to travel less are the targeted buyers of Reva i, according to Agni Energy. To provide better after sales service to Reva customers, the company is also planning to open a completely new service centre in the capital.
Currently more than 70 Reva cars are plying the Kathmandu roads. The company plans to work on increasing brand visibility of this green car.
The car, which is available in red, green, blue, yellow and white colors, is priced at Rs 1.49 million.
