KATHMANDU, March 24: Police have taken action against 370 individuals for harassing passengers inside the New Bus Park in Gongabu.
The Federation of Nepalese Transport Entrepreneurs, the umbrella organization of transport entrepreneurs across the country, took action against those causing trouble during a program held on Sunday to promote a safer bus park.

Federation President Bijay Bahadur Swar emphasized that Nepal Police, transport entrepreneurs, and transport workers share equal responsibility in ensuring the national bus park remains safe and passenger-friendly.
Senior Vice President Saroj Sitaula stressed the need to prevent people from randomly grabbing passengers' luggage or harassing them at the bus park.
Chief of the Maharajgunj Police Circle, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Niranjan Thapa, stated that the police are working to make the national bus park safe and well-regulated.
Inspector Rajen Khadka at the New Bus Park Police Post informed that out of those arrested this fiscal year, eight have been prosecuted.
Currently, public transportation services from the New Bus Park operate in 70 districts across the country. Pankaj Malla, Human Resources Chief of Lotse Multipurpose Pvt Ltd, which manages the bus park, mentioned that staff members are now required to wear uniforms and identification badges. He urged passengers to coordinate with staff for a safer travel experience.
