Action against illegal pharmacies in Jhapa

JHAPA, Sept 28: The Joint Market Monitoring Committee is to take action against pharmacies and clinics running illegally in Jhapa district.



At a face to face program organized on Friday an officer, who is in the monitoring committee, said they will take action against the pharmacies and clinics running illegally.[break]



According to market monitoring officer, Ganesh Dahal, they will take action against them after coordinating with the center and regional offices at the earliest.



On the occasion, Chief at the Office of the Cottage and Small Industries, Radha Krishna Khatiwada, said they will expedite the market monitoring in the district to save the consumers from being cheated in the coming festive season.



While carrying out monitoring, the market monitoring officials said they found that consumers have been compelled to purchase substandard goods due to lack of awareness in consumers.



They said they will also take action against businesspersons who hike prices of goods by creating artificial shortage in the market.



Chairman of Consumer Welfare Protection Forum, Rajendra Ghimire, said act of investigation and monitoring should be increased as inedible goods are being illegally imported from India.
