Abducted men escape after 17 days

SIRAHA, Nov. 4: Two persons, who were kidnapped from Inarwa, bordering VDC of Siraha district, 17 days ago, have been able to escape from clutches of kidnappers.



An unidentified group had kidnapped Dinesh Mahato, 20, of Inarwa VDC-2 in the district and his brother-in-law from Rajbiraj in Saptari district, were kidnapped on October 18.[break]



They reached the Police Post at Khutauna in Bihar of India after escaping from the kidnappers.



Investigation into the case is underway by bringing them at the Ward Police Office, Lahan, after Indian police this morning informed Nepal Police about this, according to Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Siraha, Raj Kumari Shahi.



Ramdev Mahato, father of Dinesh, said that the kidnappers had kept them at an unknown place by intoxicating them.



Dinesh is B.Ed second year student at JS Multiple Campus, Lahan.

The group had kidnapped Dinesh on the same day he reached home to celebrate Dashain with his brother-in-law.
