KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Making coffee is an art, so believe the professional baristas. Barista trainings are becoming extremely popular these days with the increasing number of coffee shops being set up. These trainings include preparing all kinds of coffee and making various juices.

The course includes theory and practical trainings. In the first stage, students are taught the history and origin of coffee. [break]

Second in the trainings are the lessons to make various drinks. From espressos to cappuccinos, each drink requires a different technique.

To give students hands-on training, in the final stage, students are sent to work in different outlets through the institutions.

Among such institutes providing training for students is the Standard Hotel training at Bijuli Bazaar and Himalayan Java at Thamel.

Harish Bahadur Chand at Himalayan Java informs that Barista training is easier compared to other hotel trainings and it also takes lesser time for course completion.

“The theory classes take up only a week and a month of practical classes complete the trainings,” he says.
