SIRAHA, May 7: A 70-year-old was trampled to death by a wild elephant here last night. The deceased has been identified as Buddha Maya Magar, of Dharmapur Gairitole of Golbazar municipality10, Siraha.

She was encountered with the gigantic mammal while returning home after watching the television at her neighbour’s home. The elephant probably came from the Chure forest. The Area Police Office, Golbazar’s police inspector Nabin Ghimire said the body has been kept at the Lahan-based Ram Prasad Uma Memorial Hospital for a post-mortem.
The animal also destroyed two houses at Muksar of Golbazar-1.
