A squad led by ASI Pokhrel thrashed journalist Dotel associated with the local newspaper ´Nepali Express´ leaving him injured on the charge of consuming alcohol in the night of Thursday. Dotel is the editor of the magazine.[break]
He has sustained serious injuries on his head and seven stitches have been put. According to Dotel, the municipal police patrol team beat him with the butt of the gun and kicked with boots.
Chief of the Banke Police, SP Bikram Singh Thapa has said that a process for taking action against the accused police personnel has been initiated. They have been summoned at the District Police Office, it is learnt.
