Mahottari police made the arrest in a case of a murder of Chiranjibi Mahaseth, son of Rabindra Mahaseth, of Bhatauliya VDC – 2 of Mahottari.
Kumar Sah, 19, of Bhatauliya-3, Sudhir Kumar Sah, 21, of Ward No 2 and Sabir Ansari, 18, of Ward No 1 were arrested and paraded amidst a press meet at the District Police Office.
The three have confessed abducting the boy at 7 pm on Saturday and strangling him to death at a paddy field belonging to Rup Narayan Sah located at a neighbouring VDC, Ekdara-7. They added they committed the crime for money.
The boy's mortal remains were found at 12 midnight on Monday in the paddy field. The police have filed a case of murder against the accused and launched further investigation into the matter.
The police had arrested five more persons in suspicion of involvement in the crime and released them later after finding out they were innocent. Superintendent of Police Janak Bhattarai has not ruled out the possibility of more arrests related to the crime. RSS
