SURKHET, Sept 16: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Sunday ruled out the possibility of the president calling for the formation of consensus government in the existing scenario.

PM Bhattarai said, “I have had talks with the president in that regard (the president´s possible call for consensus government). Nothing like what the public is hearing is going to happen." [break]

Talking to reporters at the Surkhet airport today, PM Bhattarai reiterated that consensus among the parties is the only way out from the current crisis.

He, however, said consensus does  not mean there should necessarily be agreement on each and every issues. “Consensus is an understanding and it is not possible to have consensus on every thing,” he argued.

On the occasion, the PM also accused the opposition parties of spoiling environment for consensus by launching anti-government protest ´just for the sake of protest."

He further added that political parties have no alternative to choosing between reinstating the dissolved Constituent Assembly and going for fresh polls to end the present political deadlock.
