Dhanusha UCPN (M) leader held for manhandling forest officer

JANAKPUR, March 8: Police have arrested UCPN (Maoist) Dhanusha District leader Devsagar Das on the charge of manhandling a forest officer on Tuesday.

A group of UCPN (Maoist) cadres led by Das had thrashed Birendra Sah, a forest officer of Dhanusha district, in his own office on Sunday, accusing him of not providing enough firewood to his cadres.


Victim Sah filed a case at the District Police Office, Dhanusha accusing Das of thrashing him and smashing his mobile set, laptop and telephone.

Police are investigating the case after taking the perpetrator into the custody.
