APF wins Naya Bazar volleyball

KATHMANDU, April 13: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) on Saturday claimed the title of Second Naya Bazar National Open Volleyball played at Naya Bazar, Kathmandu.

APF overcame Andhi Khola Sports Club of Syangja 25-23, 25-18 and 16-25, 25-22 in the final.

Tribhuvan Army Club earned third place defeating Naya Bajar Samajik Youth Club 25-11, 25-14, 25-15. The top four teams were rewarded with cash prizes of Rs 111,111; Rs 60,111; Rs 35,111; and Rs 11,111.

Ranabir Singh and Sandip Singh of Andhi Khola won best spiker and quicker awards while Mahendra Shrestha, Khusi Chaudhary and Pushpa Jung Malla of APF won best blocker, setter and defender awards.

Each of them were awarded with Rs 3,000. Gyanendra Bista of APF was declared the best coach and received Rs 4000 for his feat.
