KATHMANDU: Stocks witnessed a choppy session on Wednesday as the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index traded within a confined range on Wednesday. The major average opened on a positive note and climbed above 1,340 points in the morning. The index fell in red for a couple of times at midday, but an advance toward the close saw the index end 5.31 points higher at 1,342.36 points.

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) witnessed indecision in the first half of Tuesday's trading. The Nepse index wavered around the opening level of 1,350 points till mid-session before finally succumbing to selling pressure in the closing hours. The late decline saw the benchmark index shed 12.09 points to end the day's trading at 1,337.05 points.

Chicken price rises to Rs 410 per kg

KATHMANDU, Feb 5: The retail price of chicken has increased to Rs 410 per kg. Earlier last week, Nepal Chicken Sellers Association had decided to raise the price by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 360 citing high mortality of chicks during winter. Last year during February, the price of chicken was around Rs 325 per kg.

Shree Airlines starting Pokhara flights from Friday

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Shree Airlines is starting scheduled flights to Pokhara from Friday. The private carrier has announced introductory fares of Rs 2,000 on Kathmandu-Pokhara sector and Rs 2,600 on Pokhara-Kathmandu. "These are our launching fares which might change according to demand and supply situation,” Anil Manandhar, corporate manager at Shree Airlines, said. “Rather than competing on price, we are determined to provide quality service to our valued passengers,” he added.
