Hajari Sah, who had been proposed as the MPRF-D candidate for constituency 4 of Parsa joined the MPRF-R at a formal function in Birgunj on Wednesday. “MPRF-D Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar is a power-monger and is working against the cause of Madhes,” accused Sah. [break]
He also defended his move to join the Yadav-led party saying MPRF-R was the only party that champions the cause of Madhes.
Birendra Sah, another MPRF-D candidate proposed for the elections under the proportional quota has also joined MPRF-R. “Gachchhadar is an ambitious leader who wants to become the prime minister even if he had to trample on the aspirations of the Madhesi people,” said Sah, adding, “I decided to quit the party after I learnt about his intentions.”
The two leaders have also accused MPRF-D Chairman Gachchhadar of being guided by the interest of the Tharu community. “MPRF-D is predominantly a Tharu party,” claimed the leaders.
MPRF-R General Secretary Sashi Kapoor Miyan has said that Birendra Yadav will contest the poll from the constituency 3 of Parsa, and Hajari from constituency 4 for proportional seats.
