There is no option other than election: Coordinator Dahal

BAGLUNG, Feb 12: Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is no alternative to elections in the present situation. 



Addressing a public discourse on Wednesday, former Prime Minister Dahal claimed that only the election can bail the country out of the current crisis. 


Coordinator Dahal said that his party has not paid any attention to the agendas of parliament reinstatement and all-party government formation raised by some parties.

"This election is not our will. We were thinking of conducting the election in 2084 BS. The election now emerged in extra-ordinary circumstances. There is no option but to best utilize the election," he said. 


He added that his party has engaged in dedicated efforts to safeguard the country from the evolving complex situation and protect the hard-earned achievements obtained from long struggle and devotion. 


Dahal claimed that the country witnessed widespread destruction due to the interests of the national and international forces, although the Gen Z movement was waged for freeing the country from corruption, establishing good governance and keeping civic freedom. 


He highlighted the need for unity among left forces to steer the country to change.
