KATHMANDU, August 9: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has been picked as the coordinator of a taskforce of five-party ruling coalition. The first meeting of the taskforce that was formed by the ruling coalition to outline election alliance modality in upcoming general election nominated NC former general secretary Sitaula as the coordinator.
The meeting had positive discussion to effectively take the ruling coalition to election alliance and also to address the issues of livelihood, task force secretary Kesharaj Joshi. The task force is assigned to develop an outline of seat allocation in the election and submit it to the top leaders.

Earlier, a meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition had formed the 11-member task force comprising representatives from five coalition partners.
The taskforce comprises general secretary Gagan Thapa, leader Sitaula and Minister for Communications and Information Technology and leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki from the NC.
Also included in the taskforce are leaders Barshaman Pun and Dev Gurung from the CPN (Maoist Center); vice-chairperson Pramesh Hamal and general secretary Beduram Bhusal from CPN (Unified Socialist) and Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav and Rakam Chemjong from the Janata Samajwadi Party and leaders Himlal Puri and Ananda Sharma from the Rastriya Janamorcha.
