The disease that first emerged two months back this year had increased sharply till the recent past week. According to the District Public Health Office, Chitwan, the sample tests had to be conducted for 25 persons every day earlier, which is now reduced to four to five.
Among 447 sample tests, 153 were confirmed swine flu in the last month. Most of the affected were from Chitwan while the rest from Nawalparasi, Rautahat, Dhanusha, Kaski, Gorkha, Rupandehi, Parsa, Tanahu, Kavre, Mahottari and Bara districts.
The suspected cases are sent for test in the capital city.
