Blood donation by NITF
KATHMANDU: Nepal International Taekwondo Federation on Monday organized a blood donation program to meet the demand for blood, needed for earthquake victims. Officials of the Federation, coaches, players and others donated blood at the Blood Bank in Bhrikutimandap, according to Anjan Dhamala, vice president of the Federation. Altogether 45 people donated blood during the program.
KC distributes relief goods
KATHMANDU: Hari Saran KC, the general secretary of Nepal Karate Federation and chief coach of Wado ryu Karate, has distributed relief goods worth Rs 250,000 to the victims of April 25 earthquake using his own money. According to a press release issued by National Sports Council (NSC), KC donated the relief goods at Boche and Lakuri VDCs of Dolakha district. The items he distributed among quake survivors included rice, tarpaulin, sleeping bag, noodles, beaten rice and medicines. According to KC, 10th South Asian Games karate gold medalist, Kushal Shrestha, international karate players Tara Gurung, Simon Khatri and Kantipur Transport Entrepreneurs Vice President Narayan Kaji Dangol distributed the relief goods. KC who is also the vice president of Federation of Nepal National Transport Entrepreneurs has declared that he would provide for full tuition fees up to SLC for 10 talented students of the district.
Chandeshwari volleyball
KATHMANDU: Host Chandeshwari Youth Club and Artists' Team of Kathmandu will vie for the title of the Third Chandeshwari Running Cup Open Women's Volleyball Tournament being held in Ramechhap. Chandeshwari and Artists' Team won their respective semifinal matches on Monday to set up the final clash. Chandeshwari beat Gokul Ganga Higher Secondary School 25-13, 25-11, 25-12, while Artists' Team recorded 25-12, 25-7, 25-12 over Hanumanteshwari Higher Secondary School.
