KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The Nepal National and International Players’ Association (NNIPA) has announced that the 2017 NNIPA Player of the Year will be organized on December 28.
In a press meet organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the NNIPA announced that the players of 29 different games will be felicitated. It had felicitated the players of 35 different games considering their performance of the seventh National Games convened in 2016. President of the NNIPA Dipak Shrestha said that the winner of each category will receive Rs 10,000 each. He added that the best players of both men’s and women’s categories from this time will be awarded.
NNIPA fetes Rokaya with Sports Personality Award
The players of football, volleyball, badminton, karate, taekwondo, wushu, boxing, athletics, weightlifting, swimming, judo, archery, shooting, wrestling, lawn tennis, soft tennis, table tennis, kabaddi, sepak takrow, basketball, handball, hockey, taekwondo, cycling, squash, triathlon, kho-kho, golf and fencing will be awarded. Also, the organizers announced that a person will receive the Gajraj Adarsh award.
The runner Gajraj Joshi’s Trust will provide Rs 25,000 to the winner of that award. Joshi had represented Nepal at the Asian Games in India in 1951.
