Rukum businessmen call strike

DANG, July 20: Rukum Chamber of Commerce has called an indefinite strike in the district from Monday alleging that the agreement reached with the District Administration Office to repair roads at the earliest was not implemented even after a week.



The chamber shut down the district headquarters Khalanga, Chaurjahari, Rukumkot, Baanfikot, Bairagithanti, Jhulneta and other markets, demanding action against the contractor of the Jhulneta-Khalanga road graveling project for his alleged negligence and immediate food supply to the district among other things.



Dipak Khadka, the secretary of the chamber, said they will continue the shutdown until the demands are addressed.
