According to the SSP Rana Bahadur Chand, who is the deputy chief of the Bureau, the most wanted trader Raj Lama Tamang aka Nagraj, 34, hails from Makawanpur, Hetauda. Nagraj was arrested with 400 ampoules of pharmaceutical drugs. [break]
SSP Chand said that Nagraj was involved in supplying pharmaceutical drugs to different cities of the country.
He said, “Last time he was released on July 29, 2009 after serving a jail term of about two years. But he seems to have continued his trade after his exit from the jail.”
We were following him since the last few months and were able to nab him while trying to sell the pharmaceutical drugs, he added. He also informed that the police have yet to arrest others in his racket.
Meanwhile, the Bureau also seized two medical stores in Kathmandu and arrested the owners of the stores for selling illegal pharmaceutical drugs. The arrested are Padam Bahadur Gurung, 57, the owner of Arun Medical Center in Gongabu-7 and the owner of Tankeshwor Medical at Tankeshwor-12, Kathmandu.
According to the Bureau, huge amount of pharmaceutical and psychotropic substances were seized from his medical center and his residence as well.
According to SSP Chand police have been keeping an eye on other medical stores as well and will raid them soon.
