Police arrest teachers for enforcing banda in Parsa

PARSA, July 17: Police have taken teachers including chairman of the Private Schools Teachers´ Association in Parsa district under control today. They had been forcing to close educational institutions in the district.



Police arrested them from a school at Gyanbatika this morning while they were enforcing shut down of educational institutions saying the District Education Office neglected their demands for promotion.[break]



According to Police Inspector at the Ward Police Office, Birta, Rabindra Poudel, police have taken Chairman of the Association, Salauddin Ahamad and teachers—Arbind Singh, Jiyalal Saha, among others, under control.



Meanwhile, Parsa District Chairman of NPABSON, Nandan Yadav, said that PABSON and NPABSON have decided not to shut down educational institutions at any cost.



District Education Officer Hari Basnet said that it was objectionable to shut down educational institutions by teachers.
