KATHMANDU, August 23: Police have arrested 18 people allegedly involved in enforcing shutdown from various parts of Kathmandu Valley.


Spokesperson at Kathmandu Police Office SP Santosh Singh Rathore said that 18 people who came out on the streets to shut down Nepal in the valley were arrested on Tuesday.

“These people have been arrested from Baneshwor, Kotheshwor, Sundhara, Mangalbazar, Maligaon, Swayambhu, area of Kathmandu Valley. They are now kept in a nearby police station. No suspicious thing has been found from them,” he said.


The united front of four communist parties has called for a shutdown in Nepal today to exert pressure on the government to meet their demands.
