The representatives of different political parties suggested the UCPN (Maoist) to work for safeguarding national sovereignty, ending rising foreign interference, forming national unity government and drafting a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly (CA). [break]
This the first of its kind jamboree held in Hetauda after the restoration of democracy in the country.
Central leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nir Shankar Shrestha said the Maoists lead the course to constituent assembly by taking other parties into confidence.
Similarly, central member of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal, Madhu Adhikari said the UCPN (Maoist) should help maintain a peaceful environment after holding the CA elections by forming the national unity government.
However, CPN-Maoist Makawanpur district committee secretary Indra Bahadur Pariyar expressed displeasure to what it called the surrender of UCPN (Maoist) to parliamentary politics by shunning the spirit of people´s war and revolutionary spirit.
He suggested that the UCPN (Maoist) should lead the country´s mainstream politics.
Likewise, CPN (UML) Makawanpur district secretary Gopal Bahadur Shrestha and CPN (ML) district secretary Bhimsen Mahat wished that the seventh national congress of the UCPN (Maoist) would give a new directive to the country by forming a national unity government. They also added that major political parties in the country were in need to learn more about political culture and democratic exercises.
Nepali Congress Makawanpur President Raghu Raman Neupane said the Maoists would take a message for new election to CA based on political consensus among the major political parties.
Meanwhile, hotel entrepreneurs´ association Chairman Bhagirath Sharma said the ongoing seventh national congress of the UCPN (Maoist) has opened up possibilities for the establishment of deluxe hotels and upgrading of the standard of the existing ones.
