The UCPN (Maoist) has claimed that this is the first time that the party is collecting suggestions from the public for preparing its election mainfesto. The suggestions can be submitted verbally or by email or by post. Similarly, the suggestions should be submitted by 16 August and the draft will be completed by 17 October. [break]
"We have sought suggestions from the party cadres and ordinary public in our attempt to come up with the best possible election manifesto," Bishwa Bhakta Dulal, a member of the manifesto draft committee, told Republica.
He also informed that there were many mistakes in the manifesto prepared for the last CA elections and the mistakes were about the judiciary.
"The mistakes happened because it was prepared by a single person, but this time we will hold group discussions and draft the manifesto through a committee," added Dulal.
The committee has also formed sub-committees for the purpose of drafting the manifesto.
"The subcommittees have been given seperate responsibilities," added Dulal.
The mainfesto drafting committee has Baburam Bhattari as coordinator with Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Lekharaj Bhatta, Gopal Kiranti, Bishwa Bhakta Dulal, Shashi Shrestha and Dilli Raj Khanal as members. Mahara, Bhatta, Kiranti are from Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s faction, Khanal is from Bhattarai faction and Dulal and Shrestha are from Narayan Kaji Shrestha´s faction.
