KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Nepal Olympic Committee's current President Jeevan Ram Shrestha and former president Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan on Tuesday received clean chits in a contempt of court case filed by Yuvaraj Lama, the former member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC).

Lama had filed a case claiming that Shrestha and Pradhan were involved in contempt of court by disobeying an earlier verdict of the Supreme Court that had recognized Nepal Olympic Committee led by Rukma Shamsher Rana as the legitimate body. Lama had claimed that Shrestha and Pradhan registered an organization named National Olympic Committee in Doti district to avoid the court verdict. In a separate case, Lama had asked for annulment of the Doti District Administration Office's decision to register the new organization.

A division bench of Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha and Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana gave clean chits to Shrestha and Pradhan saying that there weren't enough evidences to prove them guilty. Likewise, the bench quashed the writ petition filed by Lama demanding the annulment of the Doti DAO's decision.
