KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday surged 21.62 points to close at 2,638.60 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,616.97 points and added 11 points in the first half an hour. The index remained fairly stable for the next two and a half hours before escalating for the remaining trading time for the day.

All the groups were the gainers in the intraday trading. Manufacturing and processing added the largest of 158.30 points, followed by hotels and tourism with 146.26 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 2.31 points. The daily turnover slipped to Rs 4.23 billion from Rs 5.13 billion.
Among the individual companies, 213 were gainers while 42 were recorded as losers. SY Panel Nepal Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 377.29 million.
Salapa Bikas Bank Limited gained the highest of 10 percent in its market value. Nepal SBI Bank Limited with a decline of 3.58 percent was the topmost loser.
