KATHMANDU, Sept 24: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday rose by a double-digit figure of 11.77 points to close at 2,629.81 points.
However, the total turnover decreased compared to the previous day. The daily turnover declined to Rs 5.44 billion from Rs 6.35 billion.

The share prices of 176 companies increased, while those of 95 companies declined as the prices of seven companies remained unchanged. Nepal Lube Oil saw the highest gain, with its price rising by 12.47 percent. Similarly, the price of Sonapur Minerals increased 7.65 percent, the second in the row.
Mid Solu Hydropower recorded the steepest decline, with its share price falling by 11.58 percent. Likewise, the price of Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha dropped 10.19 percent.
Shivam Cements recorded the highest turnover of Rs 358.10 million. Himalayan Distillery ranked second in terms of trading volume; shares worth Rs 351.66 million were traded.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, only the non-life insurance index declined 32.19 points, while the indices of the remaining 12 sectors rose. Of the gainers, the manufacturing and processing sector index recorded the highest gain, rising by (195.29 points) 1.83 percent.
