KATHMANDU, Sept. 23: Nepal’s Khagendra Roka Magar won his opening bout in boxing at the ongoing 20th Asian Games in Japan on Wednesday.
Competing in the men’s 60kg category at Nishio Gymnasium in Japan, Khagendra defeated Macau’s Alvin John Reyes Salinas 5-0 to advance to the last 16.

The victory marks Nepal’s first win in boxing at the ongoing Asian Games.
On Tuesday, Nepal’s Chandra Bahadur Thapa was eliminated in the opening round of the men’s 55kg category after losing to India’s Jadumani Singh.
In women’s boxing, Ramisha Shrestha also lost to a Vietnamese boxer in the women’s 51kg category.
