REPUBLICA, Aug 11: The Matrika Yadav-led CPN (Maoist) on Sunday walked out of the 33-party alliance led by CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya.

Accusing the Baidya-led CPN-Maoist of trying to forge an alliance with the former royalists, CPN (Maoist) Chairman Yadav announced to quit the alliance amidst a press meet in the capital.

“Nepal´s sovereignty cannot be protected by pleasing both India and China,” said Yadav accusing the CPN-Maoist leaders of serving the interests of the international community. “Madhesi parties are agents of India and their political agendas are in the interest of India,” said Yadav.[break]

He also accused the Khil Raj Regmi-led government of serving the interests of neighboring countries. “Both the11-point agreement and the 25-point ordinance on removing constitutional difficulties should be scrapped as they are unconstitutional,” he added.

On a different note, Yadav argued that the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls scheduled for November 19 would not resolve the political crisis. “People are not interested to vote in upcoming November polls,” he claimed. He also said that his party would not participate in the elections.
