Kidnapped youth found dead in Mahottari

JANAKPUR, March 31: A youth, who was abducted from his home in Mahottari district two weeks ago, was found dead on Sunday. The body of Pankaj Yadav, 23, of Sundarpur VDC-1 in Mahottari district, was found on the bank of Bela River at Ankar VDC-2.



According to police, Pankaj´s body was found buried on the bank of the river with his throat slit and tied with saree. Pankaj´s face was disfigured beyond recognition, according to Superintendent of Police in Mahottari, Pawan Prasad Kharel. [break]



Shayam Yadav received the dead body of his son on Sunday. District Police Office (DPO), Dhanusha has arrested four persons on suspicion of their involvement in the murder. Spokesman of the DPO, Dhanusha, police inspector Govinda Puri refused to reveal the names of the detained suspects saying it would affect the investigation.



Pankaj was kidnapped by an unidentified group on March 17. According to a source, Pankaj´s family had already paid Rs 700,000 as ransom to the kidnappers for his safe release. The family had kept the whole incident secret in the hope of his safe release.
