Krishna Chaudhary finished second with a timing of 14 minutes 43 seconds while Anil Tamang stood third at 16 minutes 58 seconds.
In the women´s section, Yami Jhakri Magar clocked 17 minutes 43 seconds to win the triathlon title ahead of Sonika Dhakal, who finished second at 18 minutes 29 seconds. Nirmala Karki was a distant third on 25 minutes 40 seconds.
Meanwhile, athletes of Tribhuvan Army Club dominated the triathlon in the open section with a clean sweep of the top three positions.
Army´s Tikaram Thapa completed the triathlon -- featuring swimming, cycling and race -- in 1 hour 15 minutes 33 seconds to win gold. His club-mate Basanta Chaudhary clocked 1 hour 19 minutes 46 seconds to finish second while another Army athlete Chitra Bahadur Paudel took the third position with a timing of 1hour 20 minutes 10 seconds.
Army´s Keshari Thapa won the women´s triathlon title in the open category clocking 1 hour 47 minutes 49 seconds.
Yan Kumari Ghale of Army finished second with a timing of 1:55:01 hours while Laxmi Magar (1:59:57 hours) of Pokhara secured the third position.
Earlier, Minister for Youth and Sports Ram Kumar Shrestha inaugurated the tournament organized by Nepal Triathlon Association.
National Sports Council Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama and Nepal Triathlon Association (NTA) President Ganesh Man Pun gave away the prizes to the winners.
