Incidents of fire on rise in Nepalgunj

BANKE, May 2: Officials of Fire Brigade of the Nepalgunj Municipality have demanded new fire engines saying the old ones have created problems in putting out fire.



They said that the fire engines, one of which is 25 years old, have created problems in putting out fire during disasters at Nepalgunj and its surrounding areas.[break]



The two fire engines run by the Nepalgunj Municipality are out of order now.



Fire Brigade In-charge Ranjit Shrestha said that out of the two fire engines, one is of Minimax Tata Company, which is 25 years old. Spare parts of the fire engine could not be found in markets as the company has been already closed.



Another Chinese fire engine is 12 years old.



Fire Brigade officials said that incidents of fire occur upto three times a day in Banke district and problems have been created as fire engines go out of order daily.
