GULMI, Dec 19: CPN-UML Secretary Pradip Gyawali on Saturday said the government will not hold talks with the Madhesi parties in the Tarai under their pressure.

He further said that the dialogue can be held in any places in the country but the government will not yield to their pressure to just make it in the Tarai.

"Talks will be held in Kathmandu, this is their emotional matter," Gayawali told journalists at a press conference organized by CPN-UML Gulmi chapter in the district today. "Madhes is also the land of Nepal, even if it is held here it will not make any difference."

Stunned by the sudden announcement of next protest by the UDMF, Gyawali said Madhes movement will lead both the sides nowhere - neither the government nor the Madhesi people.
"Sooner the solution we get, the better," said Gyawali, adding, "Madhesi parties' demand can be addressed through the amendment bill to the new constitution."

Madhesi movement is disrupting social harmony, said Gyawali referring to the President Bidya Devi Bhandary's recent visit to Janaki Temple when UDMF cadres had cleaned the temple after worship by Bhandari in a symbolic protest.

He also maintained that India cannot achieve its desired political goal in Nepal with the support of some few political parties.
