Amendment bill unacceptable: Madhesi Front

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has said that it cannot accept the constitution amendment bill registered in the Legislature-Parliament by the government yesterday.  At a meeting of the UDMF held at the party office of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Wednesday evening, leaders of the UDMF concluded that the amendment bill in its present form is unacceptable to them.

“The amendment bill in its present form is unacceptable. If and when a vote is held on this bill, we will vote against it,” General Secretary of the Tarai Madhes Socialist Party, Keshav Jha told Republica Online after the meeting.



The government on yesterday evening registered a 7-point constitution amendment bill in parliament in a bid to address the demands of the agitating Madhesh-based parties.
