Govt, Muslim group hold talks

KATHMANDU, March 15: The government and an agitating Muslim group held talks at the the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction Sunday.

During the talks, an 18-member talks team of Joint Muslim Struggle Committee led by Attahar Hussein Farooq submitted a five-point demand to the government team led by Peace Minister Janardan Sharma.


Among the demands are including Muslims´ identity in the drive for inclusiveness, formation of a Muslim commission, census of Muslim population and enactment of family law, among others. The talks will continue tomorrow.
