Gold, silver prices increase

The price of hallmarked gold has been fixed at Rs 316,900 per tola, while the price of silver has been fixed at Rs 5,475 per tola.

KATHMANDU, March 8: The price of gold and silver increased in the local market on Sunday. Compared to Friday, gold increased by Rs 3,500 per tola and silver by Rs 30 per tola.



According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Federation (FENEGOSIDA), the price of hallmarked gold has been fixed at Rs 316,900 per tola, while the price of silver has been fixed at Rs 5,475 per tola.

On Friday, one tola of gold was traded at Rs 313,400 and the same amount of silver at Rs 5,445, FENEGOSIDA reported.


According to international media, an ounce of gold is trading at $5,170 and the same amount of the white metal is trading at $85 in the international market today.
