Four Uzbek nationals arrested along with 3.745 kg of gold from TIA

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Police have arrested four Uzbek nationals from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) while they were attempting to smuggle 3.745 kg of gold concealed in their rectum.

According to police, the arrested individuals include three women and a man. They had landed at TIA on FlyDubai flight FZ 575.

The District Police Range, Kathmandu stated that the arrested are from Uzbekistan. According to the DPR, the four individuals have been identified as Akhmadjanovna Dilfuza Marifaliev, 54, Israilovna Saodat Faizieva, 49, Ghulamnovan Umida Akhmedov, 48, and Sardar Tursunov, 41. Except for Tursunov, all others are women.

The four individuals were attempting to smuggle 16 spheres and 8 blocks of gold concealed in their rectum. 

A necessary investigation against them is currently underway, police added.
