Police sources indicate that 6.5 kg of gold was found in the possession of the two foreign passengers from Dubai. Although it was reported that the recovered substance was liquid gold, the police did not confirm this information. A police officer from the airport police security guard office stated, "It appears to be gold, but we are currently verifying the information."

The gold was discovered in six packets concealed in a pocket inside the jackets worn by the arrested individuals. They were apprehended by airport police while attempting to exit after passing through the customs office of the airport.

On December 7, around 14 kg of gold was seized at TIA. The airport customs office confiscated approximately 14 kg of gold on Thursday midnight. Chandra Ghale, who arrived in Kathmandu from FlyDubai flight FZ 573, was arrested on Thursday night at 11:40. He was found with 14 kg of gold shaped like a biscuit, wrapped in cloth and hidden on the right side of his chest.
