According to a press statement issued by FNJ, the Himalaya TV management has agreed to release due salary of the month of Chaitra (mid-May to mid-April) to its journalists and other staffers immediately and the due salary of remaining two months within a week.The TV management has also expressed commitment to implement the provisions of Working Journalists Act and its Regulations by mid-July. Likewise, the management has also agreed to create conducive environment for physical security of journalists and create gender-friendly environment.
Following the agreement, the agitating FNJ Chapter at Himalaya Television has withdrawn its sit-in protest that began three days ago. Earlier, the FNJ team-led by its Central President Mahendra Bista held negotiations with the TV management to resolve the demands put forth by the agitating journalists.
