GALKOT, April 28: Six Himalayan bluesheep and three Himalayan Tahrs have been killed by trophy hunters in Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve in the second wildlife hunting season this year.
The Reserve office had issued permission for hunting 10 Himalayan bluesheep and four Himalayan Tahr in the second hunting season. However, wildlife hunting companies could kill six bluesheep and three Tahrs. Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is the only hunting reserve in the country established in 1987.
Hunting season begins at Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve
It is spread on an area of 1,325 square kilometers in the Dhawalagiri mountain range in western Nepal. It adjoins Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung districts.
The hunting companies had paid revenue in the range Rs 1.3 million and one thousand to Rs 1.3 million and 51 thousand per one Himalayan bluesheep and Rs 1.3 million one thousand to Rs 1.3 million and 50 thousand per one Himalayan Tahr to the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Reserve as hunting royalty this season.
The Department had issued permission for hunting to six hunting companies this season. RSS
