According to Dabur Nepal, Ajay Shrestha of Dilli Bazaar won the second prize -- a 32-inch Sony Bravia LCD TV-- and Sushil Poudel of Tyangla Faant in Kirtipur won the third prize -- a Sony DVD Home Theater System.
Dabur Nepal added that the 12-week contest had received 11,240 entries and an additional 108 participants had won other prizes.
SPICE S-5330 phone out
KATHMANDU, July 27: Teletalk Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized distributor of Spice Mobile phone in Nepal, on Monday unveiled a new flip phone S-5330.
The mobile phone set, priced at Rs 4,150, has a one-touch audio and Stereo FM Radio functions. Other features include mobile tracker, e-mails on SMS upon request, a calendar, which will tell lunar positions, dates and festivals and 3D Graphics User Interface. According to a statement, the S-5330 can also ´speak´ the incoming phone number and number from the phone book using a function called POPAT.
The phone has an expandable memory of up to 2 GB and can play MP3, MIDI, AMR and WAV formats. Teletalk is also offering a free USB Card Reader with the phone.
Everest Ghar Dailo Banking in Banke
KATHMANDU, July 27: Everest Bank Limited (EBL)´s branchless banking service -- Everest Ghar-Dailo Banking Sewa -- has reached Banke.
Issuing a press statement Monday, the bank said the service was launched on Sunday and would be offered in six locations through EBL´s Nepalgunj branch. The service is available in Bageshwari Ward No 4 and 9 in Kohalpur, Manikapur and Bankatwa in Banke and Motipur in Bardiya.
The service allows clients to access their accounts and perform banking transactions using a biometric enabled smart card and machine through the bank´s authorized local representatives. Because of this new service, clients do not have to travel to the bank´s branches. Some of the services available to clients include opening bank accounts, withdrawals, deposits, receiving remittance and fund transfer.
The service is now available in 13 villages, eight in Baglung and five in Bhaktapur.
