Dealers of four-wheelers woo people with attractive discounts, offers

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: With Dashain - the biggest Hindu festival - at our doorsteps, distributors of major four-wheelers brand have announced promotional schemes, offering price discounts and other gifts, in a bid to end long running slackness and boost transactions during the season when sales increase by around 30-35 percent.

Laxmi Intercontinental that represents Hyundai in Nepal has announced ´Dashain Tihar ko Shuva Carmania´ scheme under which customers are offered up to Rs 300,000 cash discount depending on the models. [break]

“The three lucky customers can also win Eon car,” said Rupesh Sharma Bhatta, senior manager-business development and planning at Laxmi Intercontinental.

The cash discount ranges from Rs 60,000 on Eon to Rs 300,000 on Santa Fe.

Batas Brother Motors - the authorized distributor of Fiat cars - is offering up to Rs 200,000 cash discount. “We expect to sell more than 50 of car during the two-month scheme period,” Alok Josee, deputy general manager of Batas Brother Motors said.

Saakha & Universal Automobiles that represents Chinese carmaker Geely is providing free accessories and 2 nights-3 days Bangkok trip for its customers. “The offer is valid on the purchase of Geely CK, Geely MK and Geely LC Crossover cars,” said Prabhal Saakha, director of Saakha Group - the parent company of Saakha & Universal Automobiles.

Chaudhary Group´s subsidiary CG Automobiles - the authorized distributor of Maruti Suzuki in Nepal - has announced ´Suzuki Dashain Bahar, Rojne Tapainko Adhikar´ scheme on Suzuki Alto, K10 and Wagon R vehicles. Under the scheme, customers can choose either auto loan financing at 7.5 percent, or on road package that includes cash discount, road tax, insurance and accessories or up to Rs 100,000 cash discount. In addition to that, customers can also get 12 free servicing and two-year warranty.

“We have targeted to sell around 600 cars during the scheme period,” said Bishal Shrestha, manager-marketing, sales and strategy at Chaudhary Automobiles. “Sales during Dashain-Tihar make up around 30 to 35 percent of annual sales.”

Syakar Trading Company is offering cash discount of Rs 100,000 on Honda Brio. It is also paying road tax and premium of integrated insurance for a year. Besides, it is offering attractive gifts on Honda City, Jazz, Accord and CR-V.

Sipradi Trading is also offering up to Rs 300,000 cash discount on Tata passenger cars. The discount ranges from Rs 50,000 on Sumo Gold to Rs 30,000 on Safari VX and Aria. Prabin Khatiwada, head of passenger car division at Spiradi, said the company has targeted to sell 400 cars during Sept-Oct period.

Korean carmaker Ssangyong is providing three years free maintenance. Constant Business Group - the authorized distributor of Ssangyong cars in Nepal - is also offering free wash twice a month for up to three years.

To woo Dashain shoppers, Skoda MAW is providing Skoda Fabia on down payment of Rs 350,000. It has also announced attractive offers for other brands and variants. “Sales during festive season increases by around 50 percent and we expect to sell around 100 units of Fabia and Rapid during this period,” said Deepak Agrawal, general manager of Skoda MAW.

Go Automobiles - the authorized distributor of Ford vehicles -- has announced ´Bhagyachakra´ offer under which customers can choose between cash discount and other gift hampers.
