DANG, Nov 2: CPN-UML Vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam has said that fresh efforts should be made to forge consensus to end the present political deadlock.
Situation has already taken a new course, so consensus should be forged in a new way, he said while speaking at a press conference in Tulsipur, Dang, on Monday. [break]
The UCPN (Maoist) and the CPN-UML have already started holding talks to amend the regulation pertaining to the prime ministerial election, he said. "The existing strength of both the parties is enough to amend the regulation."
As the Nepali Congress hasn´t given up its stubbornness, the amendment will automatically dissolve the candidacy of Ram Chandra Poudel, he said.
"Congress is the main obstacle to consensus as the party hasn´t withdrawn its prime ministerial candidate yet," he said.
