The FNJ feedback is for drafting a media-friendly constitution in which it has expressed its concerns over some points regarding press. The points as claimed by the FNJ are intended at curtailing the free press and right to expression.

Receiving the feedback, the CA Chair pledged that he will try best to address the issues brought to the fore by FNJ. Appreciating the Federation's constant concerns on the development of constitution-drafting, he said the contribution of FNJ in the fight for democracy and against authoritarianism from street to the Supreme Court, will always be remembered.

He was also of the view that the new constitution should not go back from the provision relating to press freedom guaranteed by the Interim Constitution of Nepal-2063 BS.

FNJ President Dr Mahendra Bista praised the progress of the constitution drafting process, while demanding that the constitution should avoid any provision or word that clips the concept of press freedom.

General Secretary Ujir Magar said FNJ is fully sensitive towards the importance and value of the draft of the constitution and the feedback was collected through discussions with all the bodies concerned. RSS
