Bushfire destroys two community forests

Myagdi, March 22: The bushfire occurred in two community forests near the district headquarters of Myagdi on Monday has been brought under control by the personnel of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, local residents and the fire fighters.
Barahapakho and Aanprukh community forests stretched in hundreds of ropani land were destroyed in the fire that continued



for nearly six hours. Most parts of the two community forests was caught with the fire following the strong wind occurred for two hours in the Monday afternoon.

Police said that a large number plants and the habitat of wildlife were also destroyed after the fire engulfed the forests. Similarly, the pipeline of water supplies to Beni and the telephone cable line to Arthunge from Beni were damaged in the fire.


The District Police Office, Myagdi, said that identity of the persons involved in the forest fire is yet to be ascertained. RSS
