ROLPA, Oct 24: The resins available at the community forests have become a boon for the community forestry users groups and local governments of the district.
The transactions of resins worth amounting to millions of rupees every year from the district have directly benefitted the community forest users groups and local governments.
Pine forests of Baitadi not fine
In the last fiscal year, a total of 2.59 million kilogram resins extracted from the community forests of the district was sold out and the community forests had earned up Rs 2.64 million. Likewise, Rs 3 million was allotted to the District Coordination Committee, according to the District Forest Office.
At least six Resin and Turpentine Industry were involved in extracting and collecting resins in the year 2016. Similarly, resins collection is being carried out from 205 out of 625 handed-over community forestry users groups in the district.(RSS)
