KATHMANDU, July 5: Khyati Shrestha´s murderer Biren Shrestha and accomplice Merina Shakya were manhandled by a group of people outside the Kathmandu District Court Sunday morning.
The group waiting outside the court attacked the two after they were being escorted out of the court following extension of their detention by 10 days. The police and the people were involved in a tug of war and the police finally whisked the duo away. Shakya suffered minor head injury during the scuffle.
The court had earlier extended the detention of the duo twice. They were arrested in connection with the murder on June 20. Both have confessed their crime to police.
