Bhutanese royal couple arriving in Kathmandu today in a brief stopover visit

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck of Bhutan are arriving in Kathmandu today. The royal couple is arriving in Kathmandu this morning as part of a private visit.

Bhutanese King and Queen will land at Tribhuvan International Airport around 10 am in a brief stopover visit to Nepal. They are scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu from New Delhi and stay in Kathmandu for about five hours before returning home.

Ahead of the arrival of the King of Bhutan in Kathmandu, security arrangements have been tightened. After receiving the information about his visit, the Nepal Army conducted a rehearsal at Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday for his security management.

During their brief stay, the King and Queen will visit Swayambhu and Boudhanath. After offering prayers at Swayambhu, they will proceed to Boudhanath before returning to the airport. The royal couple is scheduled to leave Kathmandu at around 2:40 pm.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this is a private visit, with no official meetings or appointments planned.
